Today’s Popular Artists Cover 40 Years of Hit Singles

If you’re into indie groups like Foo Fighters and Franz Ferdinand, you might be interested in BBC Radio 1’s upcoming covers album. This fabulous collection will contain one hit song for each year from 1967-2006, covered by popular modern artists. For example, “Your Song” by Elton John will be covered by The Streets on the album. There will be 40 tracks total, celebrating 40 years of broadcasting by BBC 1.

Tracks on the album range from classic tunes by Sting or Jimi Hendrix to newer popular hits by Justin Timberlake. There will be tracks by indie bands like The Pretenders, and covers by Franz Ferdinand and others. Overall this album has a wide variety of genres; classic rock, mixed with modern pop and some indie.
