The Shins, one of my favorite bands are coming out with a new album called “Wincing the Night Away” on January 23. I’ve been listening to them ever since I watched one of my favorite movies, Garden State (The Shins are on the soundtrack). I think Garden State was very well made, and I love the characters, and last but not least, the music.

It’s about time for The Shins to come out with a new album, as their last one, “Chutes Too Narrow”, was back in 2003. On “Wincing the Night Away” The Shins are going to change their style a bit. They’ll be shooting for a new feeling on this album. Instead of their upbeat feel of their last album, they’ll be going for a The Flaming Lips-inspired synthesizers/electric drum feeling. I’ll be looking forward to this album a lot, and will be first in line to buy it!

The Shins are know for playing with bands such as Modest Mouse, and in February they will be touring with a possible 5th member of the band.
