Not long ago I got introduced to the band Snow Patrol, by a fellow Indie Anthems staff member. Right away, I skimmed through all of the songs on the album Eyes Open, and the song Close Your Eyes jumped out at me. Right from the simple chord progression at the beginning of the song, I started sitting back and enjoying the band. I guess they’re more well known then I thought, because the next day when I was browsing the iTunes music store, there was a big button with the text “Snow Partol” written on it. Am I out of the indie loop? I guess so.
It seems that you can now download the AOL Audio Session EP from the US iTunes music store. It features 5 live recordings, which are:
- Chasing Cars
- You’re All I have
- Hands Open
- Run
- You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will?

Yeah, snow patrol rock. Check out their first album… it’s much better than their newer stuff.
I saw them live in 04 when they were at there peak (imo) and they were awesome. I think they are touring again soon, have a look and see if you can pick up some tickets.
yeah, get the first album but also the second which in my opinion is the best. they are a great live band, saw them many times since about 1999, but also saw them recently at their huge gig in scotland and they were still good. also try the 2 reindeer section albums, a sort of scottish indie supergroup lead by gary lightbody. snow patrol’s singer.
the martha wainright duet on the new sp album is good though.
Thanks Andy, I’ll check them out! Right now all I have of Snow Patrol is Eyes Open, so I’ll have to get some more.
