Cass McCombs has a new music video out for “The Executioner’s Song,” off of his new album “Catacombs.” The video is directed by Aaron Brown. At first the song feels like it doesn’t really know where it is headed, but then it settles down in a soft melody with an easy beat. In the beginning, the video seems like a normal day on the farm for a man, which at first seems like an odd choice given the name of the song. Eventually the video seems to be growing darker and gaining intensity, with an ending that seems to have gone off in a completely direction than one would have thought at the start. The video is below, but I warn you not to watch it if you are faint-hearted or easily disturbed.
