The Walkmen – You & Me
After a relatively weak album stint, The Walkmen are shining again. Reminiscent of their incredible record, Bows and Arrows, they’re bringing back the natural sounding heart songs that made them so great to begin with. It’s great to see a band revisit the formula that solidified their existence and improve upon it.
GZA – Pro Tools
The genius is at it again with another amazing addition to his flawless catalogue. As one of Wu Tang’s founding members, GZA further secures his place as one of the greatest rappers of all time with the heavy hitting Pro Tools. Make no mistake, GZA is still as good as the Liquid Swords era even if this isn’t the next Liquid Swords.
Jaguar Love – Take Me to the Sea
The ex-members of Blood Brothers and Pretty Girls Make Graves have come together as Jaguar Love to make an amazing album that manages to match, if not outdo, both of their previous works. Deciding to stray from the hardcore, they’ve made an accessible pop rock album while maintaining the heart and imagination that we’ve come to expect from both the Blood Brothers and PGMG.
