A few days ago i attended an up and coming, un-signed Edinburgh band Oliwa gig. If you’ve got a few minutes spare check out their myspace profile and listen to a few of their songs. We will be playing some of their stuff on the next podcast anyway but they are a fantastic band that are worth checking out.

It looks like Radiohead will be signing a new record deal for the release of their upcoming album, In Rainbows. The reason for this is they feel that the album is worthy to be spread across the mainstream public, and needs someone who can deliver the CD.
I’m still very excited about this CD, and it’s getting a lot of mentions, and Radiohead themselves seem to be quite proud of it.

The Arctic Monkeys have picked a name for their next single. It will be called Teddy Picker, and it will be released to the public right before they play their Christmas tour.
The song is from their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare. It will be released on December 3rd, although the b-side is still unknown!

The best band ever, Radiohead, has just announced that their new CD entitled In Rainbows will be released in just 10 days, which is October 10th! The album will be available download-only through their In Rainbows website, while a CD as well as two 12″ vinyls and a second CD with more songs, pictures, artwork, and lyrics booklets, will be released on December 3rd.
The best part is that Radiohead has left the price for the download blank, meaning that fans can decide how much that want to paid for In Rainbows. I wonder what happens if you put in $0.
You can pre-order the discbox version for £40.
Here’s the track listings:
01. 15 Step
02. Bodysnatchers
03. Nude
04. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
05. All I Need
06. Faust Arp
07. Reckoner
08. House Of Cards
09. Jigsaw Falling Into Place
10. Videotape
Discbox Bonus CD Track Listing:

02. Down Is The New Up
03. Go Slowly
04. MK 2
05. Last Flowers
06. Up On The Ladder

I stumbled across this on youtube a few days ago. Whilst not really indie related at all i think this would make a fantastic idea for a cheap indie video.

A few weeks ago Gibson Guitars created a public rock and roll art exhibition at more london and the 02 arena. All of the bands and artists involved worked with Gibson Guitars to create their own giant guitar exhibits. Now, those giant guitars are up for sale on ebay.

Tragically a fan died at a smashing pumpkins gig in Vancouver, Canada on Monday night. Described by the police as a “mosh pit or crowd-surfing incident”. — No surprise there then.
The man was dragged from the pit half way through the concert after appearing to be unconscious. I can’t even imagine how this must have worked. First aid specialists tryed to revive him before he was transferred to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

If you’ve ever fancied yourself as a bit of a guitar god but you can’t actually play the guitar, chances are you will have heard of the massively successful guitar hero series on the playstation. Sex Pistols have gone back into the studio to re-record a version of “Anarchy in the UK”. Keep an eye out for them on Guitar Hero 3 if you get round to picking up a copy.

David, the guy who has been running this site for the past few months has finally decided that it is time he let the site go to someone who has a bit more time to keep it updated. I spoke to David earlier today and he didn’t want the site to go to some weirdo and wanted to see the site become a great success, with or without him. So, we came to an agreement and indieanthems.com is now back under my control.
For those of you who don’t know me I am THE jon from the indieanthems podcast. I’ve got a few ideas in the pipline for this website that i’m sure you will all enjoy. I’ve outlined a few of them below.
- More quality updates more often.
- Other indie related updates rather than just band updates, things like indie fashions and the like will now be added to the bill.
- New updated forum.
- New authors.
I am also very open to ideas so please, if you have any suggestions please drop me an email using the contact form and i will get back to you.
Don’t worry about david. He is still going to be floating about and making the odd update.
